Teletherapy

Speech teletherapy is a growing alternative to face-to-face therapy. This therapy delivery model allows us to conduct the same speech-language services as traditional in-person sessions, but provides you added convenience. Teletherapy sessions take place in the comfort of your own home and in your child’s natural environment. It also allows for consistent therapy, no matter how busy life gets.

Evaluations

Evaluations are necessary to determine if a disorder or delay is present. Formal and informal assessments can be completed to reveal a disorder/delay. The results from the evaluation will help us determine if therapy is warranted as well as provide us a baseline of skills. Evaluations also assist in determining appropriate frequency of and goals for treatment, as well as help to measure progress.

Individualized Treatment Sessions

Recommendations for treatment will be based on the individual needs of each child. At Play On Words Pediatric Therapy, we believe family support and participation are an integral part of the treatment process. Our patients and families can expect to be actively involved in therapy and provided with valuable information on how to facilitate carryover of targeted goals in the home environment.

Collaborative Approach

Collaborating as a team is an essential part in implementing an effective treatment approach for a child. We believe parents, teachers, and other health professionals should discuss ways to better assist the child in all aspects of his/her life. This can be done through phone conferences, parent/teacher conferences, attending Individualized Education Plans (IEP) meetings, and attending doctor appointments with parents.
